General Information

What is the Oklahoma Baptist Builders Fellowship?
It is a Fellowship of Oklahoma Baptists dedicated to using their skills and abilities in construction for the cause of missions in Oklahoma, in the United States and abroad.

What is its purpose?
To participate in a meaningful way in the missionary endeavors of the International Mission Board, the Home Mission Board and the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma through the construction and repair of church buildings.

Specifically, our purpose is to help those churches with a building project where there are adequate resources for the cost of materials but not for the cost of labor. The mission of the Fellowship is to provide such labor.

Who can be a member of the fellowship?
Christian men and women who are active members of a local Southern Baptist Church.

What skills are needed?
There must be a desire to be doers of the Word and a willingness to show your faith through your works. There is a place in the Fellowship for everyone with this attitude. To enable us to do a professional job, skilled workers are required such as: architects, heavy equipment operators, concrete workers, plumbers, carpenters, electricians, bricklayers, roofers, painters, and trim finishers. Those without construction skills will serve in the vital role of helpers and learners.

What will be expected of me?
A prayerful attitude towards missions and a willingness to donate your time and talents to work on a mission opportunity. The cost of such opportunities must be at your own expense, at the expense of your church, or from sources other than the Fellowship.

Where and when will my services be performed?
Projects become available and are selected on a worldwide basis. You may choose to go abroad, serve in the United States, or remain in Oklahoma. You choose when, where, and how long you wish to serve.

How do I become involved in the fellowship?
Contact our office and ask for the Baptist Builders membership form. (You may e-mail our office by clicking here.) When we receive the completed form we will add you to the list and our coordinators will contact you about your availability.

What are the rewards of service in the fellowship?
The greatest rewards will be knowledge of a job well done, making new friends, and meeting new brothers and sisters in Christ. You will have the satisfaction of knowing you have been a volunteer missionary for our Lord Jesus Christ!
