Annual Congress Activities

RA Racers

GENERAL INFORMATION-In order to enter, participant must be a member of an active local church missions group. The car must be built after September 1, 2008, by participant with the help of parent or some other adult and entered by the participant.

Three divisions of racing for boys and girls:
1. Grades 1-3
2. Grades 4-6
3. Youth/ Students (Challengers)

Two categories of racing:
1. Open Racing Competition
2. Associational Winners Competition-Friday night March 6th at 7pm at Quail Springs Baptist Church, OKC

*Boys or girls who race in the Associational Winners Competition may not participate in the Open Racing.

OPEN RACING COMPETITION
Any boy or girl in grades 1-6 and teenager, who is not in the Associational Winners Race at Mission Ignition, may enter a racer car in Open Competition. Complete an Open Racing entry form at the check-in table and present it at the inspection table with your car. A car is eliminated after it loses a second time. A trophy will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each division.

ASSOCIATIONAL WINNERS COMPETITION
ALL ASSOCIATIONS are encouraged to conduct a Racer Competition for Lads (grades 1-3), Crusaders (grades 4-6) and Challengers (grades 7-12). A 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winner from the Lad division, a 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winner from the Crusader division, and a 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winner from the Challengers division from each association will be eligible to enter the double elimination competition.

TO ENTER ASSOCIATIONAL WINNERS RACE AT CONGRESS
Each associational office is responsible to contact the Children's Ministry office with the Associational Winners. **All entries must be received on or before February 23, 2009.

Associational Winners Reporting
Be sure the winners report provides the name of the association, age group division, name of boy or girl, grade, church and church city. Only three participants from each age division of the association who held a racer competition of two or more churches will be allowed to enter the state race. Only the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Place Winners may enter. If one of these cannot attend Mission Ignition the next highest alternate may enter in his place. Boys or girls who are eligible for the Associational Winners Race at Mission Ignition may not enter the Open Racing competition.

A trophy will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winners in each division.

RA RACERS BEING RACED AT THIS CONGRESS MAY NOT BE ENTERED.
Individuals, groups and Chapters are encouraged to bring arts, crafts and displays to enter in the fair. ONLY PROJECTS COMPLETED DURING THE PAST YEAR MAY BE ENTERED. All projects should be in place for judging by 9:30 a.m. on Mission Ignition Saturday. The participant must complete a registration form (below), giving information about the items being entered. There will be three divisions of entries: Grades 1, 2 & 3 (Lad), Grades 4, 5, & 6 (Crusader), and Youth/ Students (Challengers) for each category of projects.

Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each division and category. Judges award ribbons may be given.

Individual Projects Individual projects must show individual choice.
Individual projects must indicate idea, planning and work of the participant.
Participant must be present to enter his or her project.
Project should be used to help complete Advancement work.

Chapter Projects
1. Must show planning and work of the chapter under supervision & assistance of leader.
2. Participants can work together to create a single display (i.e.: illustrated world map, bookcase, large table) or individual items of same type and design (i.e.: weather vanes, wind chimes, towel rods).
3. A majority of the chapter or group must be present at Mission Ignition to enter project.
4. Project should be used to complete Advancement work.

Missions Activity Notebooks Children's Missions Groups, Royal Ambassador Chapters and Challenger Groups are encouraged to compile notebooks showing their involvement in mission projects and activities for the past year.

Judges will be looking for in-depth involvement in missions education and active participation in missions and/or service.
