Mission Ignition - Mission Activities

Launch Sequence

Missionaries representing various countries and ministries will be stationed in Launch Sequence rooms for boys, girls and adults to participate in fun, hands-on activities representing the missionary's experiences on the field. A variety of activities will be offered in each room. Activities include live animals, foreign language school, game shows, and more. The missionaries will display items relating to their work. The Launch Sequence will begin at 8:30 a.m. Participants will receive a mission control reward for their involvement.

Mission Challenge Wall

Children's groups are encouraged to seek and accept the challenge of doing missions. Today's children are often self-focused and have no plans of serving others. Churches would involve kids more if they had some ideas. The Missions Challenge Wall will allow groups to explore over 40 ideas of missions participation to be done during the next year.

There are three categories; Bronze, Silver and Gold. Groups are given time to see what Mission Challenges are listed in each category. Groups willing to obtain Bronze status will choose two activities from the Bronze category. When the group completes an activity, the leader can take a picture of the group in action and mail or email the photo to the Children's Ministry office mjones@bgco.org . Next year the group will be recognized and awarded for completing the challenge. Silver Challenge - Must choose and complete two items from the Bronze category and two items from the Silver category. (Total of four items)
Gold Challenge - Must choose and complete two items from the Bronze category, two items from the Silver category and two items from the Gold category. (Total of six items)

All-Star Mission Challenge

Any child may choose one activity from the All-Star Challenge Wall to complete on their own. The child can involve others to help accomplish the challenge, but he or she is totally responsible for recruiting help and conducting the activity. To report the completed activity, the child must write a short report, share the report with the pastor and submit it with a picture of him or herself doing the activity. Mail or email the items to the Children's Ministry office. BGCO Children's Ministry Office 3800 N. May Ave, Okla. City, OK 73112 or mjones@bgco.org.
