Basic Information

For 50 years Oklahoma Baptists have provided missions camps where children could attend and allow God to expand their world. For 50 years children have discovered the opportunities for serving others in Jesus’ name, and now boys and girls in first through sixth grades will have an even greater camping experience available to them. Weeklong camp is for Third through Sixth grad children. (Campers must have completed the Third grade.)

CrossTimbers Children’s Missions Adventure Camp is located on 530 acres near McAlester, OK. Its primary goal is to educate, equip and engage children in a missions lifestyle with God through a unique camping experience. Camp activities are tailor made for children with emphasis in hands-on experiential learning about missions, evangelism and biblical principles for life. CrossTimbers provides for strengthening relationships with God, family and others while experiencing nature in a fun and safe environment.

This is quality leadership development in a camping experience.

Following are some of the improvements being prepared for this summer’s campers and parents. These updates and changes will insure that each camper has a quality experience at CrossTimbers:

  • Remodeled lodging facilities and restrooms
  • New beds and mattresses
  • New and updated cabins
  • More camp equipment
  • New camp programs
  • More camp staff
  • Greater security and safety

CrossTimbers has a bright future and here’s what one parent had to say about it:

I had the opportunity to visit CrossTimbers for the first time with my husband and kiddos this past weekend as my husband was delivering new air conditioning units for the cabins. Although I was one who was disappointed to see CampNunny close, I now recognize the great potential at CrossTimbers. What a beautiful place! As we were leaving camp my youngest son said “I hope I get to work here when I get older.” That was cool! We look forward with great anticipation to see this camp unfold, and we appreciate all you are doing to make things happen.
