Training is open to any member of a Southern Baptist church who is at least 18 years of age. Attending training does not obligate you to serve, but is necessary before serving.   Everyone is required to attend both Introduction to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief and Feeding Unit/Line Serving training.

Associational training covers Feeding, Chain Saw, and Damage Assessment; State training covers these plus Child Care, Shower Trailer, Medical, Mud-out and Water Purification. Assessment training is open only to those who have previously completed either Mud-out or Chain Saw training.

Time - 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
Lunch provided.
Men and women welcome.
Age 18 and above
No charge.
No pre-registration. Just show up.

State training sessions are the most comprehensive training events, and are led by the state Disaster Relief team leaders.

Orientation is given for these areas of Disaster Relief:

  •    Feeding
  •    Chain Saw
  •    Child Care
  •    Damage Assessment
  •    Shower Trailer
  •    Medical
  •    Mud-Out
  •    Water Purification

 

2008 Associational Training Sessions


(Also open to those outside the Association)
Associational training sessions have two main purposes:
1.  To give basic orientation to anyone joining Disaster Relief;
2.  To train new Associational Disaster Relief team members and to refresh
skills of Associational D. R. Leadership in order to be ready for local area response

Orientation is given for these areas of Disaster Relief:

  •    Feeding
  •    Chain Saw
  •    Damage Assessment

    Basic information is shared during the General Session about other Disaster Relief ministries, such as Child Care, Shower Trailer, Medical, Mud-Out, and Water Purification
