REQUIREMENTS for campers with special needs attending CrossTimbers Baptist Camp:

  1. Special needs camp is a coed camp for campers who are ages 8-18 & then 19 & up.
  2. Campers need to be socialized.
  3. Special diet and/or special medical needs should be noted in detail on the Camper Information/Health form. Please feel free to explain on a separate sheet of paper if needed.
  4. Camper should be mild or moderate educable.
  5. Camper must have physical stamina to participate in camping program.
  6. Special needs campers should bring a "buddy" of the same gender who will assist the camper in the cabin and at other times needed. The buddy for the special needs camper will pay $140. Please list the camper and buddy on the registration form. (We are enlisting older youths and college students to be buddies, if you are unable to get one for your child.)
  7. Provide a list of special equipment or supplies your camper will bring to camp.

THINGS TO PURCHASE

There will be an opportunity to buy snacks and other items by using the camper’s name tag. Each camper will have $10.00 to spend on concessions during the week. This amount is included in the camp fee. The camp store will be available for campers to purchase souvenirs. Your camper will also have an opportunity to give to the missions offering.  Money will be deposited into the store account under your child’s name. Any leftover money will be returned on Friday or may be given to the missions offering.

MAIL

It will help your camper to receive mail from home. Write early in the week. Address all letters to CrossTimbers, Rt. 1 Box 370 McAlester, OK 74501. We ask that you do not send food, gum, candy, etc. You can also email your camper at campperfectwings@bgco.org for bunk mail.

VISITATION

For the best interest of your camper, we suggest you do not visit camp or call for your camper. Experience has shown wisdom in this policy for our short-term camps. Should there be an emergency or need, you can call the camp director at (918) 423-0031. In case of a camp emergency be assured that you will be contacted.

If it is necessary for your camper to leave camp before the week is over, the camper MUST have on file a written note from the care giver stating when the camper will be picked up and who will come for the camper. Identification will be requested from the designated person before the camper will be released. We ask that you abide by this policy for the protection of the camper.
