Oklahoma City, OK – Thousands of women will retreat to the Arbuckle Mountains April 11-12 for the 2008 Oklahoma Ladies Retreat.
Kelly King, women’s missions & ministries specialist for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma and coordinator for the Oklahoma Ladies Retreat says,”We have already had two-thousand women register on-line for this year’s retreat and we are expecting almost 3,000 in attendance.” This two-day event, held at Falls Creek Baptist Conference Center near Davis, Okla., features nationally-recognized speakers and authors Jennifer Rothschild and Marian Jordan as well as musical artist Marcy Priest.
Rothschild, who experienced blindness at an early age, has spent more than 25 years taking her message of encouragement across the country as a featured speaker for some of the nation’s largest conferences for women. “I want women to recognize that we can’t always change our situations, but we can change our attitudes. We can’t change what occurs in our lives, but we can change how we choose to react to it,” Rothschild commented. Rothschild will serve as keynote speaker for each general session.
More than 15 seminars will be offered and includes sessions with guest speaker Marian Jordan, founder of Redeemed Girl Ministries. Jordan is known for her gift of applying Biblical truth to lives of women as she speaks on dealing with suffering, heartbreak and rejection. Other breakout sessions include becoming a confident woman, rearing successful children, spending less time in the kitchen, financial management and the importance of the 2008 presidential election.
The cost for this Friday and Saturday conference is $59 per person and includes three meals, lodging and seminars.
