One camper wrote:

“At CrossTimbers, I had so much fun, especially when you get there and you see how many things there are to do. And, about the activities and how they’re not just there to have fun but to teach us that everything in life always has something to do with God. Whether it’s to teach you something or just to show you how great God really is…”

Camp History

CrossTimbers sits in the foothills of the Arbuckle Mountains outside of Davis, Oklahoma on US Hwy 77.  CrossTimbers is supported by Oklahoma Baptists and the Cooperative Program. CrossTimbers is here to reach the lost children in their communities and to raise up a generation of kids with an authentic walk with God and who actively serve others with missional living. For 50 years Oklahoma Baptists have provided missions camps where children could attend and allow God to expand their world.

CrossTimbers, formerly known as Camp Hudgens, was a boy’s camp that was founded in 1959. Mrs. J. E. Hudgens wanted to honor the memory of her deceased husband by making a donation from their estate. With their gift Mrs. Hudgens made an impressionable gift to Oklahoma Baptist by giving up the land, where boys would learn about missions around the world. For over 50 years Camp Hudgens has been at the center of teaching missions to boys.

In 2008 the name Camp Hudgens was changed to CrossTimbers. With the name change, CrossTimbers became a place where boys and girls could come and experience hands-on missions learning. In 2012 the Baptist General Convention was given a gift to purchase a camp ground located near Davis, Oklahoma. In 2013 CrossTimbers: Mission Adventure Camp relocated to Davis, Oklahoma.

Since 1959 missions has been the main goal for the children at CrossTimbers. CrossTimbers thrives all year round. During the summer CrossTimbers provides 10 weeks of camp and the off season provides times for your church to come and have retreats or mission work days.
