2011 Mission Adventure Camps
CrossTimbers Children’s Mission Adventure Camp is here! Nestled on 560 acres in the San Bois Mountains and overlooking Lake McAlester, CrossTimbers provides a safe and child-friendly setting for a variety of recreational activities as well as opportunities for spiritual growth. They will learn of God’s plan for their lives and gain a heart for the world around them through adventurous outdoor activities, interactive worship, bible studies, and hands-on mission education.
For 50 years Oklahoma Baptists have provided missions camps where children could attend and allow God to expand their world. Weeklong camp is for 3rd – 6th grade children. Campers must have completed the 3rd grade. Our primary goal is to educate, equip and engage children in a missions lifestyle through a unique camping experience.
These updates and changes will insure that each camper has a quality experience at CrossTimbers:
* Remodeled lodging facilities and restrooms
* New beds and mattresses
* New and updated cabins
* More camp equipment
* New camp programs
* More camp staff
* Greater security and safety
I had the opportunity to visit CrossTimbers for the first time with my husband and kiddos this past weekend as my husband was delivering new air conditioning units for the cabins. Although I was one who was disappointed to see CampNunny close, I now recognize the great potential at CrossTimbers. What a beautiful place! As we were leaving camp my youngest son said “I hope I get to work here when I get older.” That was cool! We look forward with great anticipation to see this camp unfold, and we appreciate all you are doing to make things happen.
