Block Party Trailer

What is it?

The Block Party Trailer is a ministry provided by the Evangelism Office of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma through the Cooperative Program.

Due to new regulations and restrictions, the moon bounce is no longer a part of the Block Party Trailer.

The Block Party Trailer contains:

  • Portable outdoor sound system
  • Pop Corn Popper and supplies
  • 10' X 10' Tent Canopy
  • Open air evangelism tools (IQ Cards)
  • Power cords
  • Carnival games (baseball toss game, 3 in-a-row game, stacked bottle game, basketball game, football-throw, horseshoes)

Block parties provide great opportunities for churches to:

  • provide a variety of platforms to share the gospel
  • minister to their communities
  • improve their image in the community
  • increase their prospects
  • have fun with the un-churched

Oklahoma Southern Baptist Churches or Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma affiliates may use this trailer for the purpose of evangelism.  Individuals are not eligible.  To reserve the trailer, call the Evangelism Office at (405) 942-3000 x 4327.

What steps are necessary to use the trailer?

Step 1 Call the Evangelism Office (405) 942-3000 ext. 4327 to check on its availability and reserve the trailer.
Step 2 Send two checks to the Evangelism Office. The first check is a $300.00 deposit. The deposit will be returned to you once the trailer and its contents have been  returned in good condition. The second check for $200.00 is the cost revocery fee for the use of the trailer. Checks can be made out to the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma- Evangelism Office.
Step 3 Expect a packet in the mail that will include this checklist, a block party manual, and a trailer content information/instruction sheet. You will receive a phone call from our Block Party Consultant several weeks in advance of your event to schedule pick up and return times of the trailer.
Step 4 Contact your property insurance agent to make arrangements for the $300,000 minimum per occurrence liability insurance. The Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma must be listed as "Additional Insured" during your use of the trailer. Please send the Evangelism Office a copy of
proof of insurance as soon as possible. A copy of the proof of insurance is necessary and must be received at the evangelism office 10 days before the trailer can be picked up.
Step 5 Contact your local municipality to see if any permits are necessary to
conduct a block party in your area.
Step 6 Plan your block party using the principles in the "Block Party Manual" and the Special Evangelistic Event Formula:

Step 7 At the appropriate time pick up the trailer in Edmond at the Boys Ranch Town located at 5100 S.E. 33rd, Edmond, OK 73013. It is located on I-35 exit #139 just north of the Turner Turnpike one half mile east of I-35 on 33rd. The combination for the lock on the back of the trailer will be mailed once the deposit has been received. Information to unlock the hitch lock will also be disclosed once the deposit has been received. To ensure prompt return of your $300 deposit, our Block Party Consultant will contact you to schedule pick up and return times of the trailer.

Make sure the transport vehicle meets the following tow requirements:
  • full size truck, van or car with an 8 cylinder engine and trailer hitch
  • hitch must be at a minimum a class 2 (200 lb tongue weight with 3,500 lb load capacity)
  • hitch ball size must be 2 5/16 inches (RV style)
  • light hook up is a standard 4 prong hook
Step 8

Conduct your Block Party. Please pass along to the Evangelism Office any photos, video clips, or statistical information (use attached Block Party Highlights Form) about your block party. This information will be used to help other churches in our state.
Step 9 Return the trailer back to the Boys Ranch Town location in the same condition that it was found or better.  Leave the Block Party Contents form with the Block Party Consultant in order to ensure prompt return of your $300 deposit.
Step 10 The deposit will be returned if the trailer and its contents are returned in good condition and when the Evangelism Office receives the completed Block Party Highlights Form.
