Books: More than 5,000 books, covering a range of Baptist history,
are housed in the Archives. Additionally, there are books on philosophy,
theology, Indian culture, Chinese history and culture and a variety of other
topics.
Annuals: More than 11,000 Annuals of associations, the Baptist
General Convention of Oklahoma
and other conventions are displayed.
Periodicals: The Archives also houses many periodicals, originals
and microfilm. These include many which are no longer published.
Oral history: The oral history collection includes hundreds of
recordings, reel-to-reel, cassette and video.
Dissertations: A large number of doctoral and masters degree
dissertations are available.
Church histories: Hundreds of church histories are included in the
Archives.
Biographies: An extensive collection of Baptist biographies is
included.
Special Collections: The Archives has more than 45 “special collections”
of past Oklahoma Baptist leaders. Among these are items belonging to J.M.
Gaskin, Herbert M. Pierce, M.E. Ramay, J.B. Rounds, Sam Scantlan, T.P. Haskins,
T.B. Lackey, Anson Justice, Porter Routh, William G. Tanner and E.W. Thornton.
Special features: Memorabilia on display includes the Murrow
Press, used by early-day missionary to the Indians Joseph Samuel Murrow, a
collection of church anniversary plates, the books of Helen Thames Raley;
historic gavels; antique typewriters and communion sets.
