Partnership & Volunteer Missions

A MESSAGE FROM SAM PORTER

Missions is more than just a trip or an offering that is received during the holidays and is named after some faithful lady. Missions is a mandate from our Lord Jesus Christ. He commanded us to go and tell His story. In the first century Jesus said, “The fields are white unto harvest.” Twenty centuries later the statement is still true.

In the past 15 years it seems that believers are getting it!! They are becoming passionate about sharing their faith at home and unto the ends of the earth in very unique ways and places.

We are living in very troubled times. Christians should be actively seeking to share with an uncertain world about a certain Savior who provides eternal security for our homeland as well as the entire world.

My vision is that every Southern Baptist church in Oklahoma will become involved in partnership/volunteer missions in some way. I pray that families will lead their children in hands-on mission projects to “train up a child in the way they should go.”

Join me in praying that all our churches will carry out the Great Commission by being willing to GO.
