A Message from Alan Quigley
All of us know that Southern Baptists have been reaching fewer people with the Good News year after year, for over twenty years now. We also realize that Oklahoma Baptists have followed this downward trend by reaching fewer new believers each year. Why are we not today seeing the harvest of souls that believers saw in days past? I believe the answer can be found in Acts 5:42; “Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ”. I’m afraid that some churches have stopped proclaiming Jesus is the Christ to their communities, and I’m afraid that some believers have stopped proclaiming Jesus is the Christ to their lost family members, friends, and work associates. Let’s not forget that it is only “Good News” if they hear it in time!
We must “Never Stop” personally proclaiming the Good News that Jesus is the Christ. Personal Evangelism is the key that will unlock the harvest. Our Oklahoma Vocational Evangelists believe this also. Therefore, they have accepted the challenge of doing Personal Soul Winning Training during their revival times in your church. Let me encourage you to use our state’s vocational evangelists. I used Oklahoma Vocational Evangelists in every church I pastored, including the churches I pastored in Texas and Georgia. I used them in the Smaller in Attendance Church where I began my ministry, and in the last church I pastored, which would be considered a large church. Why? It is because Oklahoma has some of the most gifted Evangelists in the Southern Baptist Convention and because you can count on every one of them to uphold the highest level of integrity with your church.
I encourage you to look at the following pages of this directory. There you will find evangelists who specialize in many different forms of evangelism. If you have questions about any of them, I would encourage you to pick up the phone and call their pastor. That is why their home church is listed. If any of us in the Evangelism Group can assist you, please let us know. Together, let us go ENGAGE Oklahomans with the gospel!

A Word From the Pastor / Advisor
It is an honor to serve as Pastor/Advisor for the Oklahoma Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists.
Our Savior has commissioned us to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
I would encourage each pastor and each church to use these God called men and ladies to reach people for Jesus. They have a calling from God. They have a compassion to reach the lost. Most of all they are God’s gift to the church.
I have personally found these evangelists willing to work with the pastor where they have been called to serve. I have found them willing to come a week before the revival begins and visit and witness.
May God richly bless you and your church as you use these evangelists. If I can be of any service to you please let me know.

John Allen has served as a pastor of Oklahoma churches for 34 years and as a Director of Missions for over 14 years. He has served Oklahoma Baptist as Second Vice President of the BGCO for two years and on the Board of Directors for eight years. He served as the president of the Oklahoma Directors of Missions for one year. John has preached revivals across Oklahoma, in several other states and three foreign countries. Barbara “Snowflake” was involved in full-time clown ministry from 1993-2005 allowing her to travel on mission trips to Argentina, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, Africa, Hawaii and numerous other states. In 2006 God called Barbara into the ministry of encouraging and helping the saints for service (especially those who feel they can’t be used or can’t afford training). A couple of years ago God layed on my heart to put together a Power Point presentation I call “A Paramedics’ View of the Crucifixion. We often acknowledge that Jesus died for our sins, but seldom realize how much he suffered. This presentation goes into some detail as to the amount of suffering Jesus suffered for You and Me.
