Chaplaincy Events and Training

All NAMB and BGCO endorsed, BGCO deployed chaplains (DR, OCIRT, CIC, motorcycle, etc.) are required to attend continuing education training annually to maintain endorsement. 

The Chaplain’s Office provides/allows many options for you to accomplish this annual training. You can retake manual training, OSFA, CISM (Individual or Group), or you can take new CISM classes or the Integris Baptist training we let you know about. We also allow other training (on a case-by-case basis) that would enhance your chaplain skills with prior authorization. Training events must add up to at least 8 hours to complete your annual requirement.

FEMA Trainings

Chaplains may get their continuing education credits by taking the FEMA course IS 242.B Effective Communication. The course is being taught at the BGCO (Baptist Building).

Before attending the class you must have a FEMA Student ID. Click here to get your Student ID and bring it with you to the class.


Additional training can/will be scheduled through our churches and associations throughout the year. So be sure to check back often for any new and upcoming dates. Pre-registration is advised and encouraged.  Background checks will be conducted. You need to be at the training sites no later than 8:20 a.m. in order to get pictures made and background checks done. Registration fees are $15.00 payable in cash or checks the day of the training.  To register click this link or go to, click “Volunteer Training” under the “Volunteer/Training” tab and begin filling out the form at the bottom of the screen titled “Training Pre-Registration.”
