Training-orientation is open to any member of a Southern Baptist church who is at least 18 years of age. Background checks are performed! Attending training-orientation does not obligate you to serve, but is necessary before serving. Everyone is required to attend both Introduction to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief and Feeding Unit/Line Serving training-orientation. Disaster Relief ID badges are issued to those who complete the training and have passed the background checks. Badges expire to insure that EVERYONE attends training every five years. Associational training-orientation covers Feeding, Recovery-Chain Saw, and Recovery-Debris Removal; State training-orientation covers these plus Damage Assessment, Child Care, Shower/Laundry Trailer, Medical, Initial Contact Person and Water Purification. Assessment training-orientation is open to only those who have previously completed Recovery-Chain Saw and Recovery-Debris Removal training-orientation. Men and women are welcome. $15 per person fee for new team members and for those renewing their badges. Pre-registration is not required.
