What are the Oklahoma Baptist Builders?
They are a group of Oklahoma Baptists dedicated to using their skills and abilities in construction for the cause of missions in Oklahoma, in the United States and abroad.
What is the purpose?
Our purpose is to help those Southern Baptist churches with a building project where there are adequate resources for the cost of materials but not for the cost of labor. The mission of Baptist Builders is to provide such labor.
Who can be a member of the group?
Christian men and women who are active members of a local Southern Baptist Church.
What skills are needed?
There must be a desire to be doers of the Word and a willingness to show your faith through your works. There is a place in the Baptist Builders group for everyone with this attitude. To enable us to do a professional job, skilled workers are required such as: architects, heavy equipment operators, concrete workers, plumbers, carpenters, electricians, bricklayers, roofers, painters, and trim finishers. Those without construction skills will serve in the vital role of helpers and learners.
What will be expected of me?
A prayerful attitude towards missions and a willingness to donate your time and talents to work on a mission opportunity. The cost of such opportunities must be at your own expense, at the expense of your church, or from sources other than the Baptist Builders group.
Where and when will my services be performed?
Projects become available and are selected on a worldwide basis. You may choose to go abroad, serve in the United States, or remain in Oklahoma. You choose when, where, and how long you wish to serve.
How do I become involved in Baptist Builders?
Contact our office to discuss your interest. (You may e-mail our office by clicking here.) We will ask one of our coordinators to contact you about your availability.
What are the rewards of service in the group?
The greatest rewards will be knowledge of a job well done, making new friends, and meeting new brothers and sisters in Christ. You will have the satisfaction of knowing you have been a volunteer missionary for our Lord Jesus Christ!
