Worship Ministry

The Worship and Music office of the Church and Family Equipping Team exists to give assistance to and provide training for music leaders in Southern Baptist Churches in Oklahoma.  Our work is accomplished, in part, through the following events and performing groups:

  • Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma – a 250 voice men’s choir for music leaders from churches in our convention
  • Singing Churchwomen of Oklahoma – a 350 voice auditioned women’s choir for music leaders from churches in our convention
  • Oklahoma Baptist Symphony – a full, auditioned symphony of instrumental leaders from the churches in our convention
  • Oklahoma Baptist Children’s Chorus – this year will consist of 2 groups- OKC and Tulsa areas.  This is an auditioned group of 4th through 6th graders
  • Singing and Praising – an annual event for Senior Adult Choirs providing encouragement and training
  • Resonate – an annual worship arts event for students who have completed 9th – 12th grade that covers training in all areas of the worship and music ministry
  • Resound – first year worship arts event for students who are currently in middle school and want to learn more about worship and music ministry
  • Keyboard Festival – Over 700 keyboard students compete at area and state levels to show their appreciation for and ability to perform hymns, hymn arrangements, and classical pieces.
